BAe 146 G-FLTD arrives in Santiago (Álvaro Romero)

Chilean airline Aerovias DAP has acquired BAe 146-200 G-FLTD (msn E2042) on a lease-purchase agreement from Tronos. The airline is planning to use her for flights to Antarctica. These have hitherto been operated with a Dash 7, but increased demand required a larger aircraft.

LAN Chile leased three BAe 146-200s from 1990 to 1997, for use on domestic routes. One was lost in a runway over-run at Puerto Williams on February 20, 1991.
