Centavia (Central European Aviation), a new Serbian airline, started operations on July 8 using two former Meridiana BAe 146-200 leased from BAE Systems Regional Aircraft. It operated them on charters during the summer. However, efforts to begin low-fare scheduled services failed when the airline was denied route rights, and the 146s were returned.
